*PLEASE WEAR SPORT APPROPRIATE CLOTHING AND TRAINERS.* LJMU Student woman event- 30-minute check in to discuss last week’s workshops, booklet exercises, and an opportunity to connect with other women. 5.15pm-5.45pm Facilitators: Claire Kendrick (LJMU Counsellor), Gina Hindley (LJMU Disability Advisor), Aleks Wrona (LJMU Sports Administration) 1 hour Boxing Fitness session. This exercise helps release tension, distress, anger, and frustration. Women are more prone to burnout and stress due to repressed emotions, as it's not always safe to express them. Facilitated by Sport instructor Cam Stewart. LJMU SPORTS BUILDING STUDIO 2. 6PM-7PM. 15 minutes closing session- check out and evaluation. 7PM-7.15PM. Lucky will talk about their lived experince as a LGBTQ individual and the story behind their memoir. Lucky will also talk about their activism work for queer rights and campaigns against forced marriage and honour-based abuse. A Self-Acceptance workshop facilitated by Claire Kendrick (LJMU Counsellor). Claire presents ‘The Bridge’ by Donna Lancaster. A nine-part book to help you become self-accepting and/ or your authentic self. This book helps you identify potential unprocessed underlying issues that could be holding you back through a variety of exercises. It facilitates you to let go through ‘compassion, forgiveness and self- love’. It encourages you to develop purpose and meaning in your life through ‘wholehearted living and spirituality’. The workshop will briefly go through elements of the book to illustrate how amazing, helpful, and empowering this book can be. If you have low confidence and want ways to work and improve this, then this is the workshop & book for you. (A £5 book token will be given for attendance at this group)
